Portal Drones started back in 2017 as a small team helping local businesses get clearer views of their sites. What began with a few construction and property jobs around Tarporley has grown into a wider range of aerial and ground-based services used across different sectors. Over the years we’ve added new skills, new equipment, and new ways of working, but the aim’s stayed the same — to give people useful, accurate information they can rely on.
Where We Started
In the early days, most of our work involved helping local firms get a clearer view of their sites. We operated under our first CAA permissions and carried out a mix of inspections, progress checks and basic mapping. As the demand grew, so did our capabilities.
Over time, we added new equipment, new skills and a wider set of services, moving from simple aerial photos to detailed surveys, high-resolution data capture, 3D models, and creative video work. We’ve now supported projects ranging from single homes to large developments and commercial estates.
How We Work
No two clients need the same thing, so we take the time to shape each job around the way you work. Some teams want raw data. Others need processed maps, stitched imagery, measurements or content ready for marketing. Whatever format you need, we can deliver it in a way that’s useful and easy to work with.
We also keep our skills and equipment up to date. As new technology becomes available, we bring it into the workflow, making sure we’re always improving the detail, accuracy and clarity of the results we provide. It’s a steady, ongoing process that keeps us at the front of what drone data can offer.

Professional, Safe and Fully Approved
Safety has always been a priority for us. Our pilots hold PfCO, GVC, A2 CofC, and full CAA Operational Authorisation, and we carry £12 million Public Liability Insurance as standard for every project.
Being based in Tarporley, Cheshire means we can work easily across the North West and travel further when needed. We’ve built long-term relationships across both public and private sectors — construction, property, manufacturing, surveying and beyond.
